... encountered the day I was waiting for, finally :) It was 5th of september 2010. We coined it FoCh day.
Hopefully we will come up with a fixed date for this day every year :)

Whenever you think of any such events which really matters to you and you share a part, I'm sure you agree that a picture/moment flashes on to your mind which always stay connected to the event. It's like
an image of  my mom with broom appearing when I think of late night or
an image of the girl in yellow t-shirt passing by when I think of  my college-fest UTSAV or
an image of me working out few 2nd PU physics problems whenever you hear of  Vaerenna song from Minnale ..

I  have realized such moment connected to this event, and this may strike my mind as lightening whenever I think of the event to rest of my life.

... me taking a sharp turn on the Domlur flyover with Karthik as pillion rider, riding back to my home on my fzee from Anil sir's house that morning at around 6:50-7:00 at 70 kmph ...

wow ... think of it makes me crazy ... haaan ... actually happy,  over a span of 3 years since leaping out of college anything I've done with zeal and without money, is being part of this event ;) .. hope my manager doesn't read this ...

If you think that I've so far not even uttered a single word on agenda of the program ... well, here I go

St Theres's Auditorium

Program was suppose to be started at 10:30 AM, but it delayed as people started pouring in bit late .. so I'll prefer not to specify time details of the activities that was piled up

  •   Invocation song from <>.
  •   Welcome speech from Rajesh.
  •   Group song from Jyothi and team.
  •   Presentation on FoCh Day 2010 by Divya and Harish.
  •   False news from Sujendra ( comedy show ).
  •   solo dance number from Archana.
  •   Drama from <> and team ( mime act ).
  •   Prize distribution to our FoCh students by Nagarjuna.
  •   Sharing personnel experience about FoCh of
                  Sreedevika ( current student )
                  Kalaivani ( Alumni )
                  Shrikanth P.K. ( Volunteer )
  •   Vote of thanks from Akash.

Just think how dry it will be if I had to anchor and just read out the agenda one-by-one as it is  ... yeah no need of a sleeping pill ...:)

Here pitched in Praveen and Pushpa. Guuuys, I must agree, did great anchoring and hosted the show brilliantly till the end. Heard, Praveen did this kind of anchoring for more than couple of times in his college, but for Pushpa it was first time I guess and that too she was told that she was going to anchor this event only a  week back i.e on 29th Aug ( literally 1 week is equivalent to 1 day at FoCh, yeah most of us knows ). Great commitment there !!

Should really mention that Murtuza churned out their talent and made them showcase it .. Kudos to him !!

Anchors : Praveen and Pushpa

What more to say .. "Well Begun, Half Done"
Yes, forgot to mention ... Usha's painting !! welcomed the audience ... No need to mention ... I was dumb struck !!
Usha with her paintings

Next, not to guess, invocation song from < will complete once I get name and name of the song >

Invocation song
It was followed by welcome speech from Rajesh.
He warmly greeted all the Donors, Parents, Volunteers, Alumni and the students present their for the occasion. He also pointed out that the day was as well popularly known as Teachers Day and spoke about Dr. Radha Krishnan. I liked the quote he used to wish the Volunteers their, who of course are teachers.

"The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires."

Next, a group song from Jyoti and team, a patriotic number < will fill once I get the name of the song and team member names >

After that was presentation from Divya and myself about FoCh.
What's fun  in describing here the actual content of the ppt we present as it is already documented !
Fun lies in describing the back-stage things ;)
But, yes with all due respect I should admit that this Day is just and all about the content and describing it to the audience. So, I'd rather provide a link to the ppt, please do have a look at it. The ppt is self explanatory, efforts went in making so, burning the midnight oil ... On a lighter note, I didn't even work hard this much even for my 2nd PU final exams yaar ;)

Anyways, knowing the fact my self that I was a bad presenter, I was really worried if I would mess up things while presenting and thus all others effort put in will go vain !! I guess it was clearly visible that I was little fitgety but situation really got better for me when I had chat with Divya and when she put away a couple of relief/console statement on me. Great relief you know !!  .... I don't want to reveal the statements she said .. hey secret Divya !! ;)
We even came across with a new signed language, which can be used to indicate each other when any one of us get stuck while presenting and other wants to continue .... But it did not happen :) ... some of you know how it happened ;). Sure enough Divya, a savior for me and make it happen smooth and successful.

Divya presenting
After 30 min of presentation, it's a solo dance performance from Archana 1st B.Com student. The child was all set to perform, elegantly dressed, wearing always a smile and with immense energy took over the stage. Danced for a Kannada song "san sananare" from a movie Bhoopati.

Solo dance - Archana

It did not stop there. As I already said the performances were stocked up. But I did feel the audience was less. Nevertheless, good commitment and great show from all the participants and students. Many students and volunteers were present at the venue Sunday moring at 7:30 AM !!

Next was a kind of Kannada classical group song from our students .... which actually I had heard when they were practicing the previous day ... but on the stage I got to hear the song with background score .. zinger striked me ... after peeping at the stage got to know Srikanth Hampi was the musician :) ... He had a instrument, not sure about the name, tabla ??? Overall, another great show.

Group song
It was time then to hear about FoCh from our students directly. Sreedevika, 2nd B.Com students, very sound girl, spoke about how she got to know about FoCh and how it bought change in her life. FoCh is an organization which really is inspired by students like her and be a part of those children in achieving their goal and we have sufficient examples .... Kalaivani, FoCh alumni, was next to share her experience with the  audience, completed her BE in Bio.tech and now in IISc working for a project as research assistant. One should witness her speech to get an idea what FoCh bought changes in her. She gave full credit to FoCh and our volunteers. Audience also got to know from volunteers what it feels and what it takes to volunteer. Shrikanth PK, as a volunteer shared his experience about FoCh. Words fell short for him. Literally true, one cant speak about such an organization !! Moreover, as far as I know, our volunteers "doesn't speak but deliver" , "know to give but doesn't expect" :)

Another one, mime act !!! I should really appreciate the amount of practice and efforts the students had put in. They all were in white costume and had painted their faces in white. Also the act they performed had social message. In short, it spoke about the evil affects of one consuming alcohol on society, family and to themselves.

Back stage - Mime act troop

Not to forget, false/comic-news from Sujendra, the crowd bursted into laughing hearing to his comic-news.

Sujendra, news reader
Then Nagarjun had to come on stage to announce  list of FoCh Graduates for the year 2010. As a token of appreciation and for the motivation of other FoCh students, he asked the parents to give away the prizes to their children. What a sight and what more the graduates ask for !!

Nishanti and her proud parent
The program had to end, Vote of thanks from Akash sir. Unfortunately, I missed out as I had to go out to get some spoons and plates along with PK for the snacks that was arranged for the audience by Vivek sir.

But we had planned a surprise for Akash and Lakshmi. Rohith sirs idea I believe. It was their third wedding anniversary and we had planned to play "Pehla nasha pehla ..." song for the couple while Akash was giving vote of thanks ... heard, the song is his favorite ... really don't know what happened ( expecting some one to comment or inform ;) )

When I returned Vote of thanks got over and crowd were about to have their snacks .. hmmm, I thought  ... right on time :)

Had jalebi and samosa. Good atmosphere. Took a group photo which I guess every one will cherish for rest of their life. Also the event will always remain very close to me and a memorable one.  And one more thing, even though Anil sir advised me that as a group member it is not required to thank each others in the group, one last time I'd rather be rude in not considering his advice .. sorry sir. I really want to thank Kiran and Nagi for driving and taking initiative in most of the activities !! thanks maga .. thanks machi :). Thanks Ravi sir for the inputs given in making ppt in-spite of you being very busy in your personnel work. Thanks Deepak for handling photography for the event. I missed lot of names which is unfair from my part, but I really do thank all of them, parents, students, donors and of course our students for making this FoCh Day 2010 a success.

more photos here 1 2

Cheers !!!!!!!!

I always wanted a good subject/theme/cause/event to start my first blog and here it is ....
